A legacy larger than his years - by Ryan George
On Wednesday, March 12, the auction industry lost one of its best ambassadors. Jack Schneider, 17, lost his life in a tragic accident after a tanker truck crossed the center line. Jack knew more about farm & construction equipment than I ever will. He exuded a passion for the whole process and befriended auctioneers across the country. As an FFA representative, he was established in Missouri's farming heritage. At the same time, he proved himself an intuitive student of international asset trends. His work was integral to the success of Schneider Auctioneers with whom I've partnered since 2015.
More importantly, Jack was the kind of dude anyone could entrust with their daughter. He demonstrated a contagious curiosity and an admirable uprightness. Like his parents, he wanted to build a thriving business—the right way. He was a man of his word and the kind of dreamer that gives you hope for the future. No matter how many years he would've had with us on this planet, his death would've arrived too soon. My heart breaks for his parents, Andrea & Lucas, and I've been praying daily for their hearts during this season of uninvited sorrow.
